Rodrigo (Shogan) Coutinho
(Professional martial arts trainer &
IT programming & security consultant)
What has to say about SWAN
(translated from Portuguese):
“I’ll never forget SWAN’s training philosophy of making sure that training was fun (smiling and joking always) yet with serious method and technique. I’ve never laughed and had so much fun training before, yet the organized and structured training made student progress an exponential process. The force, toughness, discipline, and determination of the SWAN trainers is amazing. The non-stop quest for perfection and search for techniques even outside of their realm of Ninjitsu is impressive and open-minded. I have modeled many of my training philosophies and methods based on the ideas they have personally given me for my MMA academy here in Brazil, the Heroes Quest Fight Center (HQFC). SWAN knows that perfection is an impossible concept to conquer, yet they pursue it with a vengeance. “
Besides a respected IT programmer and security consultant for large tech firms, Rodrigo is a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, submission wrestling, and MMA coach in Vitoria, Brazil. He has black belts in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, Karate, and is skilled in Muay Thai training. He is the founder and head instructor of the Heroes Quest Fight Center (HQFC), a notable martial arts academy in Brazil. He has been a trainer, coach, and corner man for some of the Brazilian legends in the MMA world, including the legendary Vale Tudo veteran Johil Oliveira of Rio de Janeiro.
Rodrigo is highly recommended for those who are living in or visiting Brazil and looking for quality Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, submission wrestling, and MMA training.

Darius B.
College student and avid martial artist
SWAN is a revolutionary idea that allows any dedicated individual to further their path of martial arts mastery. The course is intelligent and challenging. To succeed in the course one must be dedicated and willing to learn new things. I wholeheartedly endorse SWAN as it is a worthwhile undertaking for anyone who has a passion for martial arts and the way of the ninja.
Adventure:
The SWAN experience goes deeper than just the study of martial arts into the realm of life experience. One day could be spent pushing your body to the limits in the ring with the next being a hike through the woods or a trip to the Shambhala Center to let the tired muscles heal. Expect to return from SWAN with much personal growth and a myriad of stories to tell.
System:
SWAN combines many aspects of training to make a well-rounded fighter. Ring fighting increases an individual’s self discipline and courage to new levels. The self-defense and combative techniques make the student safer and more confident that they can defend themselves in a violent situation. The ninjitsu and weapons training increases an individual’s self awareness and helps them to become economical and efficient in their movements. Finally, the parkour and combastics taught allow anyone to free themselves from preconceived notions of space and turn the world into their playground. Ultimately, SWAN teaches the student the art of freedom from fear and personal boundaries.
The Association:
The Shadow Warriors Association of Ninjitsu is guided by principles of respect. Every student is invited to become a contributing member of a rapidly growing guild of highly talented individuals. Membership in the organization is an honor and a privilege to be gained from common trials that will change the minds and spirits of all who undertake it.
The Instructor:
Brandon Camenisch is a highly competent instructor who does not cut corners. While he makes training challenging and pushes students, he is tempered by patience, respect, and an emphasis on safety. Even experienced martial artists can train and learn many new things from this instructor and his course. It would be very difficult to find a more qualified individual.
Bio:
