SWAN Ninjitsu and the legacy of the "Art of the Ninja " For thousands of years Ninjas have been revered for their commendable prowess, stealth, deception, adaptability and diversity in the arts of combat & war. Although their formal origins are strictly derived from japanese culture and history the heart or core of the "Art of the Ninja" can be seen throughout many cultures and countries. You don't have to train in Ninjutsu to be considered a Ninja the jutsu is a set of ideals, philosophies, and way of life not an arsenal of techniques and training, you yourself might be a ninja and not even know it. The concept and training of the ninja was created to protect weaker members of poor rural communities against overpowering governments, and bandit factions. They used un-conventional tactics such as stealth, espionage, and assassination to infiltrate, weaken, and neutralize their enemies in an effort to maintain a free society without overwhelming jurisdiction from organized power hungry heads of warring states. This ideal of protecting who and what is important is the foundation of values that any true warrior upholds, and is usually a main reason for most people undertaking Martial Arts or joining a military, police, or government agency. SWAN Ninjitsu upholds this same legacy of ideals and philosophy while offering a modern & realistic approach to training that is unmatched in quality. We train unarmed in all ranges of combat, as well as with firearms and weapons and although unnecessary on many levels in a modern day society with strict governing laws we train in every possible facet of Martial Arts from MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) to NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) in an effort to continue the "Art of the Ninja." We strategically chose the Colorado Rocky Mountains for their unique similarity to the origins of Ninjutsu many clans in feudal Japan lived on the outskirts of society, in the mountains, countryside's, and forests throughout Japan. This not only offers a serene environment with little distraction but also gives the student or member the opportunity to train more focused and diverse. Compared to a conventional Dojo where formal training only takes place a couple of times per week, the ability to train full-time in this setting is priceless. SWAN Ninjitsu is different from Traditional Ninjutsu in many aspects that apply not only to training and technique but also to lifestyle and ideals. Anyone wishing to undertake training in traditional Ninjutsu the Bujinkan Dojo comes highly recommended. SWAN is a modern approach to the "Art of the Ninja" and has no true Japanese origins, but is derived from many styles of warrior arts throughout the World.
